The lead up to Christmas is always a crazy time for us, as we focus on completing various retail and hospitality projects for clients to get them operational in time for one of their busiest seasons.
For this first post of 2025, we are starting with a look at a great example of teamwork in retail store design with a major redevelopment project for award-winning Baker Brothers. As a specialist retailer - celebrated for their expertise in exquisite diamonds and luxury timepieces – this client is recognised as one of the top 150 independent jewellery and watch retailers in the UK and Ireland.
Therefore, the recent opening of their elegant two-floor boutique has sparked significant interest, with coverage in jewellery trade magazines as well as the retail trade press, and you can see more images on this website too.
This multimillion-pound investment reflects the owners’ vision to evolve the Baker Brothers’ jewellery business while strengthening their successful partnership with renowned Swiss watchmaker Rolex. It also underscores their commitment to reinforcing the brand’s long-standing ties to the Bedford community, where they are based.
The new store is a relocation and major expansion of its previous site, just a few doors away. We worked in close collaboration with Directors (and sisters) Lizzie and Rebecca, who were instrumental in the vision for their new boutique, wanting to build on their renowned tradition for delivering superb customer service and respond to the evolving needs of their discerning clientele.

Designing for success is at the heart of everything we do. Whilst we aim for creative solutions to client briefs, the critical goal is to ensure that our design development projects are also commercially effective.

This was a huge redevelopment project for Baker Brothers but thanks to a strong team that combined agency and client skillsets, we’ve achieved transformative results for their business.
