It has been a busy three years for Melbourne based JR/Duty Free with a fast-paced redevelopment programme that culminated this summer with the opening of Phase One of their new 3,000sqm Duty Free store at Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport.
Since 2012, this privately held company has achieved tender victories at Brisbane, Perth and Tel Aviv airports against serious competitors in important and challenging airport environments.
A strong collaborative design partnership with Innovare Design has created winning concepts that present the Perth, Brisbane and Tel Aviv travellers with “some very exciting shopping environments” said JR Duty Free Chairman, Garry Stock.
Our aim with all the stores was to create a unique sense of place. With an accent on local materials in the design, and the local products in JR/Duty Free’s offer, we have achieved precisely that. A key design element in Brisbane Departures is the large parasol structure that echoes the outdoor living theme being implemented across the airside precinct. Whilst at Tel Aviv, the beautiful wild flowers of Israel formed our inspiration for the intricate fretwork panels in the Perfume and Cosmetics zone.”
BAC General Manager Airline and Retail Management Andrew Brodie, praised the “magnificent store” implemented in Brisbane. To read more about the first phase openings in Brisbane and Tel Aviv follow these links:
